The Kenka Matsuri(the Fighting Festival) is a traditional festival of the Amatsu Shrine at Itoigawa,Nigata in Japan which has been held to pray for the productiveness of grain 500 years ago.
In the festival, two groups carry their mikoshis(floating shrine) and crash them each other..
After this fighting event, the Bugaku that has 12 types is also dedicated to the god.
The Bugaku is a tradition of court music and dance which has been designated as a national important intangible cultural property as "The Itoigawa / Nou Bugaku" with the Nou Hakusan Shrine’s.
